Meet your Coach!

Hi! I’m Ritu — an education professional with 9+ years of experience helping students thrive. I support individuals in navigating choices that impact wellbeing, careers, and ultimately, life.

My journey has spanned continents and contexts — from guiding students through career and college planning to designing learning experiences that make education more equitable and engaging. I bring a deep understanding of higher education systems, a passion for purposeful programs, and a strong commitment to student success.

I’ve worked across career services, admissions, and student advising, and have also collaborated with EdTech and mission-driven nonprofits to scale impact. Whether I’m coaching students one-on-one or strategizing behind the scenes, I’m driven by one question: How can I help individuals make informed, self-aligned career and life decisions?

What challenges do individuals opting for this service work on?

Typically individuals are seeking to overcome one or more of the following challenges:

    • I want to submit my assignments and also be at all social events but I find myself tired and not fully present in either commitment.

    • I don't know when my assignments are due and find myself working on them a day prior to submission.

    • I hear of events of professional interest that my batchmates go to and make connections but I have no idea where to find them

    • I make notes but when its time for assignments I have no idea where to find them

    • I am unsure if my courses are going to lead me to job roles I want

    • I feel overwhelmed managing assignments, social events, life administrative tasks such as cooking and cleaning

    • I find it difficult to manage group dynamics and communication in a cross cultural environment

    • I have an overwhelming sense that I don't belong here and that it'll all come crashing down

    How will this help me?

Academic Advising supports building skills such as — mindfulness, time management, healthy boundaries, organization, making choices, finding balance with competing priorities — to manage the unique stressors associated with college, graduate school, careers and life beyond.

    What is not covered?

Academic Advising is not equipped to provide support in the areas of Mental Health (such as therapy or counseling) or Academic Writing (such as literature reviews or proposal writing). It does not impart skills such as presentation skills, data analysis, negotiating effectively, strategic thinking etc. This service will not offer specific advice on how to communicate with others, body language etc.

What is the structure of this support?

Virtual live 1:1 conversations are conducted over google meet or Zoom. We can text or email between sessions to see how things are going and help you stay on track with your goals. Eventually, you establish a meeting cadence (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or as needed) for ongoing support throughout the semester.

    What are the charges?

Like all services on Inner Monologue, charges are on per session basis. Sliding scale rate INR 700-1500; US$15-30 is available for students enrolled in degree programs at undergraduate or graduate levels and have active student ID or emails. Payment will have to be made 24 hours prior to the session.
